About Us

Samaritans Crisis Line is a Western Australian based not for profit organisation working towards a society in which fewer individuals die by suicide. With services available to callers both locally and nationally, Samaritans Crisis Line is available 24 hours a day to all individuals, from all walks of life.

Samaritans Crisis Line endeavors to help people who find themselves overwhelmed with their current life situation, no matter what that may be, and want to share their personal crisis with someone willing to listen. To fulfill their charter the Samaritans Crisis Line works in partnership with schools, health and counseling services and community organisations as well as individuals.

To provide an unbiased and welcoming environment to our callers we offer a service which is:

  • Non religious
  • Non judgemental
  • Completely confidential
  • Does not discriminate
  • Respectful of your right to remain anonymous.

"It feels so good just to have been able to talk to somebody about how I feel. I felt so alone with no one to share my thoughts with."

Our Vision - a society in which fewer individuals die by suicide and where people are able to explore their feelings and share their personal crisis in a supportive environment.

Our Mission - to offer non judgemental, emotional support to anyone who is feeling down, desperate or even considering taking their own life.

Our Values - at Samaritans Crisis Line we understand:

  • The value of providing support to explore thoughts and feelings
  • That being listened to, in confidence, and accepted without prejudice, can alleviate despair and suicidal feelings
  • That everyone has the right to make fundamental decisions about their own life.

Our Objectives - through the provision of our services and our work in the community we aim to:

  • Offer emotional support at any hour of the day or night to people passing through a personal crisis and those who are in danger of committing suicide
  • To prepare volunteers to enable them to help the depressed and suicidal by complying with Samaritans Crisis Line principles and practices
  • Raise awareness and support of the organisation so we may provide our services to as many who need it.

If you ever feel you have nowhere else to turn, no one to talk to and there is no one who would understand you, there will always be a Samaritan waiting at the other end of the line. Find out more about how we can help you or find out more about how you can help the Samaritans.

We are here to listen 24/7, so please contact us today.
