Samaritans Here to Offer Listening Support
Date Published: 30/11/2009
With the discovery on Friday by Hong Kong Police of a second Facebook group which encouraged teenagers to commit suicide, Samaritans Crisis Line remind all West Australians that they are here, should you need a confidential, listening ear in times of distress.
The Samaritans provide support to those who are suicidal, despairing, lonely or at risk of becoming so. “We provide a safe space for people to explore their feelings”, said Youth and Community Liaison Office, Mandy Paterson.
“We believe our callers have the right to make their own decisions – we’re here to provide a free, non judgemental service that lets them do that.”
The Samaritans Crisis Line can be contacted 24/7, 365 days per year on 9381 5555.
