40TH YEAR ANNIVERSARY
SAMARITANS VOLUNTEER RECRUITMENT DAY
A NATIONAL VOLUNTEER WEEK INITIATIVE
The number of Australians who commit suicide each year continues to surpass those who die on our roads. These alarming statistics highlight how depression and suicide can strike those we love.
With this year being the Samaritans 40th anniversary, the Samaritans in conjunction with the City of Perth and Nova 93.7 have organised a ‘Volunteer Recruitment Day’ to be held in the Murray Street Mall.
The Samaritans are a confidential, 24-hour listening support service, dedicated to reducing suicide in WA.
Due to a lack of volunteers many calls currently go unanswered so the Samaritans need your help. Just by signing up on the day and becoming a volunteer can help save many people’s lives.
Special guests Jenny Seaton and Nova 93.7’s Casanovas will be there from 11am.
There will be plenty of entertainment featured on the day to make it a fun and eventful occasion.
Samaritans Volunteer Recruitment Day which takes place in National Volunteer Week (May 14-20) recognises the importance of volunteers to the community and to the Samaritans specifically.
